Treatment works, and recovery IS possible.

Start your recovery journey at Because We Care, our residential facility provides 24-hour, seven days a week care and healing from substance use. Our caring staff provide support and care around-the-clock to help prepare you for your new life in recovery. We help you emerge whole from your drug use so that you can begin to connect with yourself and heal. There is no judgment. We meet you where you are in your recovery journey.

New Patient Enrollment

You can enroll with our residential treatment services at our facility. We exclusively service the Native American population. Enrollment includes a screening & assessment that helps determine your need. We will coordinate within our network of medical providers who will conduct a physical, if needed as well as. We can provide you with transportation to our Because We Care residential treatment facility. Rooms are first come first serve basis. Enroll today while you still can.

  • We provide a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment.

    Individuals are assigned to rooms with one other roommate. There are shared living areas and a kitchen. Our meals are approved by a nutritionist. There are opportunities for recreation and exercise.

  • Each resident has the opportunity to receive specialized counseling for a wide variety of needs.

    Our network of counselors can provide very personalized attention and care. Our support staff are trained behavioral health technicians and peers, individuals with lived experience in recovery.

  • Individualized Treatment Plan

  • Our assessment and intake process seeks to understand your circumstances and your needs.

    We work with you to develop a treatment plan specific to your needs and responsive to your experience. Residents receive a minimum of one hour of therapy each week, as well as the opportunity to participate in our peer support program for therapeutic activities. Individual and group counseling as well as assistance in self medication may be included in treatment options.

  • 12 Step Meetings

  • Daily 12 step recovery meetings are part of our residential program structure.

    These are provided seven days a week, as a safe space group setting, by our trained staff. These meetings provide you with the opportunity to build human connections and identify how to recover. This helps to ensure that you have a strong mental framework to combat addiction upon leaving treatment.

    The goals of the program

    The number one goal of Because We Care is to reintegrate our clients into the community. We do this through several means. First, through education on the disease of addiction. We educate on the importance of maintaining abstinence through counseling and peer support groups. We continually provide psychiatric evaluations, counseling, and medication monitoring as appropriate. We assist clients in gaining relapse prevention skills. We also assist clients in gaining a solid recovery network. Finally we utilize evidence based practices and monitor for outcomes.

    1. What can I expect at Because We Care?

    As a residential substance use treatment facility with 9 beds, the site is quiet and humble, and staff and clients greet each other warmly. It is a co-ed facility that is staffed 24 hours a day by our behavioral health technicians trained in peer support, who offer client supervision and any assistance we can.

    2. How do I get started?

    Our intakes are conducted at our Peoria location. You will first contact the facility for room availability by phone, email, or in-person. If room is available, they will assist you in determining the best next step.

    3. What if I need help getting to Because We Care?

    Our staff can arrange for your transportation to Because We Care.

    4 .How long does residential treatment at Because We Care last?

    The average stay is based on individual needs, usually 90-180 days.

    5. What’s expected of me?

    As a patient entering treatment, you may feel broken, scared, lost, and even hopeless. You may not know how to live without substances. We ask that you be willing, open-minded, and honest. Trust that a new way of living without substances is possible. Allow staff to redirect you and show you a new way to live. Ask questions. Be open to suggestions. You are expected to participate; plan to be present in every group. You are expected to express yourself and your feelings and learn to do this in a healthy way.

    6. What if I don’t have insurance?

    The only Health insurance we accept is the American Indian Health Plan. However, being Natice, AHCCCS can easily switch your health plan so long as you do not currently have an SMI determination. Our staff can assist you with the process of changing health plans.

    7. What happens to me after Because We Care?

    We help you stabilize in your sobriety and identify the next step to continue your recovery journey. You will work with your counselors and our network of health professionals to identify available treatment options.
